Coloured Quartz Specifier – Colour, Choice & Specification

Applying a coloured pigment to a mineral particle that may be less than a millimetre in size – while maintaining both product and performance integrity – requires a great deal of experience and know-how. Over the years we have developed a method of pigmentation to give high-quality, uniform coverage that will maintain appearance and performance when used in the liquid carrier. The range of colour options are generally restricted only by the mineral substrate to which the pigment is being applied (eg it would be difficult to apply a light colour to a naturally dark mineral).

Colours

Any colour specific to the RAL range coding can be achieved. This is the case for all quartz and the various size fractions. Other materials such as granite may require a special blend of pigments in order to achieve a representative colour.

Size Fractions

We can provide coloured and pigmented quartz from sizes as fine as 0.1mm for really smooth surfaces right up to 6mm.

  • 0.1 – 0.3mm
  • 0.3 – 0.6mm
  • 0.4 – 0.8mm
  • 0.7 – 1.2mm
  • 1.2 – 1.8mm
  • 2.0 – 3.0mm
  • 3.0 – 6.0mm
  • Blended Quartz sizes tend to be 0.4-0.8mm or 0.7-1.2mm
